Santa Maria Church
Its powerful tower reminds us Seville’s Giralda, specially because its bells section.
The most interesting things in this temple are: the High Altarpiece, erected as a column, carved and gilded in Rococo style to support our Lady the Virgen de la Asuncion (Virgin of Assumption); the frescoed Shrine chapel and the churchyard, with an archaeological collection with pieces from Prehistory up to the XVIIIth century.
The “Head of Germanicus”, a Roman marble portrait displayed at the Archive could be considered the most outstanding item of this collection.

Valdehermoso Palace
It has a very important Plateresque main entrance, very related to Cordovan Renaissance of the XVIth century; it is placed at the corner of the spacious barrier formed initially by the strong belvederes with Roman granite shafts at their grounds.
We are at the centre’s most privileged “urban point” from where the palaces of Valdehermoso and Peñaflor can be seen and on the ends of this crossroads you can enjoy the sight of the most beautiful towers of Ecijan Baroque, St. Giles’ and St. John’s.

St. John’s Church
Once we cross the door, the unfinished space amazes us: columns and capitals lead us to a romantic scene of “classical ruins” of unquestionable charm.
Inside we will find a small and interesting Baroque church.
Its tower is the most beautiful of Ecija with a fine decoration of tiles and carved bricks.
